[Hiring] Head of Application Engineering @Teradyne

Role Description

In this position, you will ensure the UR and customer needs for pre-sales support, and customer / partner training are complete. These activities include but are not limited to:

• Sales visits
• Supporting customers and integrators in deploying the cobots
• Participating in trade shows
• Facilitating customer / partner training

Ensure that the regional Application Engineering team:

• Provides technical support and sale enablement to partners (distributors: SI, CSI) and end-users
• Provides robotic application support and consultation to partners and end-users
• Develops distributors’/end users technical knowledge and abilities with regards to Universal Robots and applications
• Supports Service 360 activities and case management in accordance with the global service processes
• Exchanges knowledge with, and invigorates the global Application Engineering community
• Drives processes locally and aligns with global technical team on processes, tools, training material, application development for customers and trade shows
• Directly leads +10 employees in multiple countries and/or high complexity (languages/cultures)
• Owns the performance management process for your team inclusive of goal setting, feedback, coaching, career discussions, and performance appraisals
• Creates pre-sales and technical KPIs to drive high growth and improve customer partnerships with CDM's and/or Sales Engineers
• Facilitates team environment by hiring, onboarding, assigning and delegating work, while guiding, training and coaching colleagues
• Partners with CDM's and/or Sales Engineers to ensure customer needs are met
• Interacts with C-suite level executives from distributors, partners and key customers
• Ensures team members follow process standards and drive for continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, advanced degree preferred
• +10 years successful track record of technical support in the robotics industry
• Solid technical knowledge and skills of robotics and automation including multiple applications
• Documented success over multiple years in pre-sales support, post-sales support and training
• Experience supporting structured sales, plans, budgets, pipeline management
• +3 years experience managing people on site and/or on the distance
• Experience managing complex client relationships is required
• Strong oral communication skills including the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations
• Business acumen that you can apply in interactions with all levels in the company, from senior management to technical support employees
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills

Requirements

• The base salary range for this role is $197,400-315,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
• This job is additionally eligible for participation in the organization’s sales incentive plan.
