Role Description

The Global Help Desk - RRT/Nutrition Cluster Coordinator serves as a key member of the Global Nutrition Cluster Coordination team. This role strengthens coordination capacities at the regional, national, and subnational levels, with a particular focus on L2 and L3 emergencies and on Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) countries.

• The consultant provides predictable, timely, and strategic leadership to ensure an effective and well-coordinated cluster, sector, or working group response.
• The consultant guides diverse stakeholders toward a shared, evidence-based vision in complex humanitarian contexts.
• Working closely with the GNC Coordination Team, UNICEF Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and country offices, the consultant delivers on-demand, tailored support—both in person and remotely—to strengthen coordination, transition processes, preparedness, and anticipatory action planning across countries.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, humanitarian assistance and development, or another health and nutrition-related science.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in roles related to nutrition, specifically covering one or more of the following areas: Nutrition in emergencies programming, nutrition coordination, public health, nutrition planning and management.
• Fluency in English and French is required. Good knowledge of Spanish and other UN languages is considered an asset.
• 9 years of relevant work experience combined with a first University degree in health or nutrition-related science may be considered in lieu of the master’s degree.
• Proven experience in nutrition in emergency responses in a range of settings, including sudden onset natural disasters and conflict settings; leading coordination in such a setting would be considered an asset.
• Relevant experience in nutrition projects development and management in the UN system is considered an asset.
• Previous work experience with the Global Nutrition Cluster and familiarity with the Rapid Response Team modality is desirable.
