The work supports Army installations in reconciling GIS and Real Property records, improving data quality, developing automated validation tools, and delivering practical mapping and analytical solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in enterprise GIS, preferably supporting Army installations, facilities, infrastructure, or Real Property programs. They combine hands-on technical knowledge with proven project leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and customer service abilities. They should be comfortable guiding technical teams, translating complex GIS issues for non-technical stakeholders, and delivering solutions that meet operational needs.

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for major GIS and Real Property project activities.
  • Coordinate GIS technical tasks, work methods, staffing needs, and project execution to ensure requirements are met.
  • Guide the development and improvement of GIS data validation tools, geospatial workflows, web maps, and analytical solutions.
  • Help identify and resolve discrepancies between GIS records and Army Real Property information.
  • Apply GIS technical expertise to evaluate data quality, business rules, mapping processes, and geospatial system requirements.
  • Collaborate with GIS analysts, Real Property specialists, software testers, data analysts, and training personnel.
  • Engage with Government technical stakeholders and senior management to discuss project needs, technical approaches, progress, and solutions.
  • Support technical documentation, process improvements, and repeatable workflows that Army installation personnel can use.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant field of study.
  • GIS expertise: Strong technical knowledge of GIS and Esri ArcGIS application software.
  • Army Real Property knowledge: Understanding of DoD and Army Real Property and Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) policies and guidance.
  • GIS data standards: Understanding of the most recently published DCS G-4 IGI&S Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and the current Spatial Data Standard for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) Army Adaptation.
  • Technical project leadership: Experience supervising, technically directing, or managing major GIS project tasks and technology assignments.
  • Project execution: Ability to manage GIS project activities, technical methods, and staffing to ensure technical requirements are satisfied.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Ability to interface effectively with clients and senior management, including discussions and negotiations related to technical project activities.
  • CAC eligibility: Ability to obtain a Department of the Army Common Access Card (CAC).

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, and web GIS applications.
  • GIS support for Army installations, Directorate of Public Works (DPW), facilities, infrastructure, land management, or Real Property programs.
  • Familiarity with Army Real Property systems and processes, including HQIIS, GFEBS, PRIDE, RPUID, and Real Property inventory or reconciliation.
  • Experience applying SDSFIE standards, attribute validation rules, spatial data quality checks, and GIS/Real Property alignment processes.
  • Experience with GIS workflow automation using Python, ArcPy, ModelBuilder, or similar tools.
  • Experience coordinating GIS application development, testing, dashboards, or technical training.
  • Ability to translate complex GIS issues into clear recommendations for technical teams and nontechnical stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package including a liberal vacation plan.
  • Matching retirement program.
  • Competitive salaries commensurate with skills and experience.
