Role Description
The General Practitioner Physician works as a part of the medical team. They are responsible for initiating resuscitation and stabilization of patients as well as commencing investigations and interventions to diagnose and treat illnesses, whilst working as a multi-disciplined team.
- Carry out evaluation of patients that are brought in for evaluation
- Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Perform medical examinations to establish health status baseline
- Examine patients for illness and injury
- Order, perform, interpret test results and analyze records and reports
- Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed
- Collect, record, and maintain patient health information
- Ensures that all medical records are accurately maintained
- Referral recommendations for patients to medical specialists when required
- Coordinate healthcare plan
- Provision of clinical reporting into International SOS Facility Medical Director
- Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs
- Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Facility Medical Director
- Provide liaison with external agencies where required to promote chain of care continuity and professional referral/patient handover
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy with a minimum of 1 year post qualification experience and licensed to practice in area of work
- MD/DO Board eligible or certified
- BCLS and ACLS Certificate

- Cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet demanding deadlines
- Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems and software skills
