Role Description

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in coating/blasting project operations at Red Dog Mine, AK. Responsible for overseeing the work and interacting with site foremen and project managers to ensure a smoothly run job site throughout the work day.

• Supervise coating/blasting projects at various job sites through management of employee personnel and project tracking.
• Responsible for site organization and accountability.
• Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Reports on employee performance, working conditions and productivity.
• Ensures safety equipment is available, and maintains safe working conditions on a job site.
• Monitors employees to ensure they are compliant with both federal safety mandates and safety regulations established by the company or organization.
• Verifies workers are using provided safety gear, and inspects the job sites to identify and correct possible safety hazards.
• Responsible for maintaining quality of work produced by employees.
• Performs activities of workers supervised.
• This position has supervisory responsibilities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years’ General Foreman experience will be considered.
• Minimum five (5) years' experience as a General Foreman in the construction industry. Experience must include coating, blasting, and painting.
• Remote work experience required.
• Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Steel toed boots required on the job.
• Travel may require passing a TSA security checkpoint; valid identification is necessary.
