Role Description

Are you a native French or Dutch speaker with a deep understanding of local food and solid English comprehension? Welo Data is seeking contributors for a global food delivery project. In this freelance role, you will review restaurant menu items written in French or Dutch and classify them using a standardized taxonomy in Americanized English. Your cultural knowledge and linguistic skills will directly help enhance food category recognition across diverse global markets.

What You Will Do

• Read & Review: Analyze each menu item's name, category, and description written in French or Dutch.
• Confirm Context: Check the item photo (if available) to visually verify the food type.
• Classify (Dish Label): Assign the most accurate Dish Label from an English-language taxonomy dropdown using keywords like "pasta" or "grilled chicken".
• Categorize (Course Label): Select the appropriate Course Label in English (e.g., Appetizer, Main Course, Side Dish, Dessert, Beverage, Other).
• Add Contextual Notes: Provide a brief note for any items that seem unclear, ambiguous, or unusual to ensure no data row is left blank.

Qualifications

• Native French or Dutch speaker currently based in Belgium.
• Strong ability to confidently navigate and select from taxonomy options written in Americanized English.
• Deep familiarity with Belgian restaurant menus, local cuisine terminology, and regional specialties.
• Comfortable using a web browser to navigate structured data entry tasks.
• A commitment to providing consistent, highly accurate, and quality work.
• Ability to complete the assignment within 1–2 business days after receiving system access.

Requirements

• Remote location (Must be based in Belgium).
• Language proficiency in French/Dutch & English comprehension.
• Pay Rate: 20.50 $ (per hour).
