[Hiring] Forward Deployment Engineer @Unit21, INC

Role Description

This is a remote position.

We are looking for the newest member of our Forward Deployed Engineering team, with a focus on Implementation. You will turn a signed contract into a production-ready fraud and AML program:

• The data flowing into the platform
• The detection logic that generates investigations
• Regulatory requirements such as Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and Customer Risk Rating (CRR)

You will also configure and tune the AI Agents that help customers’ teams investigate alerts and cases. The work is both customer-facing and hands-on technical. You will run several implementations at once for banks, credit unions, fintechs, and crypto platforms, in an industry where regulations, fraud patterns, and our own AI capabilities change quickly. Staying organized while adapting quickly is part of the job.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own each implementation from the first conversation to go-live, including the plan, timeline, and communication with the customer’s business and technical stakeholders
• Design each customer’s data integration, whether real-time API, batch file, or core banking extract, from schema mapping through historical backfill to clean, validated data in production
• Build, test, and tune each customer’s fraud and AML program end to end: the rules, screening, and customer risk rating that detect risk, the AI Agents that investigate alerts, and the case workflows their analysts use to reach a decision
• Train customer teams and hand each live customer to your Customer Success counterpart, ready to run on their own
• Turn what you learn on each project into repeatable playbooks, and bring patterns you see across customers back to Product and Engineering

Qualifications

• 5+ years in implementation, solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or forward-deployed engineering for a B2B SaaS product, ideally in fintech, regtech, or financial crime
• Strong technical foundation: hands-on with REST APIs and Postman, SQL and relational databases, ETL pipelines, and at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar)
• Fluency with data: able to take a customer’s file layout or schema, map it, spot what is missing, and communicate necessary changes
• Detection logic: able to convert patterns described by a BSA officer or fraud lead into rules and test them against real data
• Hands-on with AI: experience configuring or building LLM-based workflows or agents, writing instructions, testing output, and assessing readiness for production
• Organized and adaptable: capable of managing several implementations on committed dates and adjusting quickly when priorities shift
• Clear communication: able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including compliance leads and data engineering teams

Requirements

• Work Location: This is a remote position.
• Remote work is currently limited to candidates located in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, TX, WA, or Canada

Compensation

• Base: $135,000-$160,000 (high end dependent on depth of experience + Banking industry knowledge)
• Variable: $15,000-$20,000, paid quarterly. Based on agreed upon projects and Net Revenue Retention
