[Hiring] FemTech Portfolio Manager Consultant @AGORA

Role Description

To conduct an independent, end-to-end assessment of the Service Bundle Pricing Tool used by Supply Division Cold Chain Team and provide actionable recommendations to enhance its analytical robustness, governance and control of the environment, operational usability and strategic relevance for future procurement decision-making.

Qualifications

• Master of Social science, technology, international development, business administration, or other relevant fields.
• Candidates with an additional two years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in startup portfolio management, venture support, innovation, entrepreneurship, or related fields, particularly in the context of early-stage technology ventures.
• A minimum of 5 years of experiences founding, working in, or advising femtech companies or women’s health solutions (preferably in emerging markets).
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in gender and inclusive design, gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) or women and girl centered research, programming or innovation.
• Demonstrated experience working with and supporting startups through implementation, fundraising, scaling, partnership development, or business strategy (preferably in emerging markets).
• Proven track record of providing mentorship, advisory services, or technical assistance to startups and innovators through technical assistance programmes or incubator programmes.
• Proven experience of working with UNICEF, or other UN agencies and/or INGOs in low, middle income or fragile contexts.
• Experience in knowledge sharing, capacity building, facilitation, or training for innovators and startup founders is desirable.

Skills

• Strong understanding of startup ecosystems, venture development, innovation management, and the challenges faced by early-stage technology companies operating in emerging markets.
• Knowledge and experience in impact investing and innovative financing in emerging markets and/or low-resource settings.
• Expertise in designing innovative financing mechanisms and supporting funds to design and implement their investing strategies.
• Demonstrable understanding of FemTech and the application of technology to address women's health, wellbeing, and gender equity challenges.
• Familiarity with frontier technologies and their potential application to social impact and development challenges, especially open-source solutions.
• Good understanding of UNICEF programmes, values, policies, and principles, or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
• Experience working in low-resource or emerging-market contexts is an asset.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to synthesize insights and translate them into practical recommendations and portfolio-wide learning.

Language Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
