[Hiring] Facility Assessor @VPD Government Solutions

Role Description

We are seeking a Facility Assessor to support the development of comprehensive facility condition assessments (FCAs) for our Federal Client’s real estate portfolio throughout the U.S. and its territories. The FCAs will:

• Document the current facility conditions.
• Determine the remaining effective useful life.
• Identify deficiencies and calculate associated cost estimates.
• Determine Facility Replacement Values.
• Evaluate the health of the portfolio and provide recommendations to support informed investment decision making.

FCAs will be developed based on the Facility Assessor performing onsite inspections, which involve:

• Thorough, non-invasive visual inspections on a diverse portfolio of buildings.
• Documenting observations and findings accurately.
• Understanding building systems and blueprints.
• Communicating effectively with clients and team members.
• Adhering to safety protocols.
• Managing time efficiently to complete assessments within hard deadlines.

This is a remote, part-time role requiring up to 75% travel throughout the U.S. and its territories. When not traveling, you will work remotely from your home office completing the report writing process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related discipline. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
• 5+ years of demonstrated on-the-job experience conducting and/or managing facility condition assessments, especially within a Federal real estate portfolio.

Requirements

• Ability to work autonomously as well as within an integrated project team environment consisting of Federal Employees and Contractors.
• Proficiency in facilities cost estimating including calculating Facility Replacement Values.
• Working knowledge of AssetCalc, ACGO or similar software.
• Excellent technical writing with a strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of building components and systems including Plumbing, Architectural, Structural, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical.
• Proficiency using a tablet while conducting an assessment; proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and other facilities related software.
• Ability to meet project and task deadlines, perform under pressure, identify emerging priorities, manage competing priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines while adapting to changing situations and demands.
• Ability to travel as required by project demands (50-75%) including overnight and weekends.
• Ability to pass a government background investigation.
• Real ID required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active FDA background investigation or active Government clearance preferred.
• Experience with federal facilities and familiarity with federal regulations and standards.
• Experience with large-scale Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Archibus, Maintenance Connection, MAXIMO, TRIRIGA, etc.
• Living near a major airport is ideal.
