Role Description

Join our team as an experienced Motor Claims Handler, managing motor claims from first notification through to settlement while delivering outstanding customer service and positive claim outcomes.

• Play a key role in delivering excellent claims service for a major motor client.
• Manage a varied caseload from initial notification through to settlement.
• Investigate, assess, negotiate, and conclude both first-party and third-party motor claims.
• Ensure each case is handled fairly, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and client requirements.
• Proactively manage a portfolio of over 150 claims.
• Carry out liability investigations and engage with customers and third parties.
• Manage suppliers and achieve defined quality and closure targets.
• Handle customer complaints, with previous complaints-handling experience advantageous.
• Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
• Adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Motor Claims & FNOL Experience: Previous experience within a motor claims environment, ideally handling First Notification of Loss (FNOL) claims.
• Insurance Qualifications: APA qualification in Insurance (or higher) is essential.
• Policy & Claims Knowledge: Knowledge of motor insurance policies, claims handling procedures, and industry best practices.
• Decision Making & Problem Solving: Strong analytical, numerical, and judgement skills.
• Customer Service & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Negotiation & Influencing: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to Detail & Accuracy: High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Adaptability & Resilience: Able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Requirements

• Experience in handling motor claims and FNOL.
• APA qualification in Insurance (or higher).
• Understanding of motor insurance policies and claims handling procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
