Role Description

Clean & Prosperous is seeking an Executive Director to lead our next chapter.

Washington's Climate Commitment Act is one of the most ambitious carbon markets in the world, and one of the most closely watched. We helped build it, helped defend it at the ballot box, and have spent the years since working to make sure it delivers — for emissions, for communities, and for the businesses whose participation the model depends on.

Our next Executive Director will join a skilled team, a diversified revenue base, and a set of ambitions that will require the organization to grow. We are looking for a leader with a track record of:

• Building revenue
• Building relationships
• High-performing teams
• Turning opportunity into results
• Taking on ambitious goals

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in policy advocacy, government affairs, or a closely adjacent arena
• Significant climate, energy, or environmental policy experience
• Familiarity with the Washington political landscape
• Track record of bringing money in through various means
• Comfort and credibility with corporations and senior business leaders
• Experience leading a small, nimble, high-performing team
• A relevant network of policy, business, philanthropic, or civic relationships
• Diplomatic, collaborative, and credible leadership style

Requirements

• Own the funding model with a mix of work-product, event income, and philanthropy
• Serve as the organization's primary external voice
• Set priorities with the Board on strategic direction
• Ensure rigorous and effective advocacy
• Lead and develop a talented, independent staff
• Work with the Board on governance and fundraising engagement

Benefits

• Full-time, salaried position with an expected range of $185,000 – $215,000
• Remote work with regular in-person meetings in the Seattle metro area
• Unlimited paid time off
