[Hiring] Events Producer @Whatnot

Role Description

Events are at the heart of how Whatnot builds and strengthens relationships. From sponsoring iconic industry conferences and hobbyist conventions to hosting our own experiences, live events create opportunities to connect directly with the resellers, collectors, and enthusiasts who often become some of the platform’s most successful sellers. There’s simply no replacement for the energy, trust, and authentic connection that happens face-to-face, making events one of the most impactful ways we grow and strengthen the Whatnot community.

We’re looking for a strategic, highly organized Events Producer to own and execute a portfolio of high-impact tradeshows and experiential activations. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, requiring someone who can zoom out to define the “why” while also diving deep into the “how.”

You will own the end-to-end execution of Whatnot’s event presence, ensuring every activation delivers a consistent, compelling, and measurable brand experience. From planning and logistics to production and onsite execution, you’ll be the driving force behind bringing our events to life. This role requires a true event chameleon, someone who can seamlessly shift from managing operations behind the scenes to engaging directly with sellers and partners on the show floor. You’ll serve as a trusted ambassador for Whatnot, confidently articulating our vision, demonstrating the value of our platform, and helping sellers understand why Whatnot is shaping the future of commerce.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years experience with tradeshow logistics, vendors, and on-site execution
• Understanding of both the “why” behind events and the “how” to execute them
• Track record of navigating ambiguity and solving problems independently
• Cross-functional collaboration and the ability to flex based on event needs
• Experience designing experiences that resonate and elevate the brand
• Strong understanding of event tech/AV setups; able to troubleshoot independently
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Experience creating scalable systems (inventory, logistics, playbooks) from the ground up
• Willingness to travel for IRL events throughout the year (valid passport required)
• Comfortable managing budgets, tradeoffs, and ROI

Requirements

• Own a portfolio of mid-sized events aligned to demand generation and category priorities
• Evaluate and recommend events based on ROI, audience relevance, and competitive landscape
• Partner with Category Marketing, Creative, Sales, and Account management to define goals, messaging, branding, and staffing
• Lead end-to-end execution of tradeshows and activations, including booth design, fabrication, AV, shipping, and on-site operations
• Manage vendors and agencies: sourcing, negotiation, contracts, and delivery against brand standards
• Assist the sales team in manning the floor during busy times and be able to credibly talk about Whatnot and live shopping
• Build and manage detailed Run of Show documentation and lead on-site execution
• Translate creative concepts into executable production plans
• Own production timelines, sequencing, and logistics from planning through strike
• Lead on-site coordination, including staff scheduling, briefing, and training
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues in real time
• Own and scale the “Booth-in-a-Box” logistics and checkout process
• Build and manage inventory systems for event assets, swag, and seller kits
• Lead ordering, shipping, and fulfillment for all IRL events
• Develop repeatable processes to improve efficiency and consistency
• Build and manage budgets for mid-sized events
• Track estimates vs. actuals and proactively manage variances
• Identify risks early and adjust scope, vendors, or plans as needed
• Serve as logistics/production lead for mid-sized events and support large scale events
