[Hiring] EPIC Analyst IV @Emory Healthcare

Role Description

We are seeking an Epic Hospital Billing Analyst IV to join our team. This candidate will work on our Epic HB team performing builds, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of the Epic HB module and coaching/mentoring other Epic HB Analysts.

This role will work on builds and configs, including:

• Epic upgrade project-based work
• Enhancement requests
• Ticket queue responses
• Break/fix duties

A level IV Analyst should have a minimum of 5+ years Epic Analyst experience in this space with certifications listed above. Remote position, however candidates must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of Epic Hospital Billing systems.
• Works across interdisciplinary workgroups to accomplish set goals as a team.
• Establishes, fosters, and maintains positive business relationships with Emory co-workers, interdisciplinary workgroups, clinical and financial department representatives, Epic partners, and all other staff who use or interact with the Epic application suite.
• Instructs, directs, supports, and provides technical guidance to other analysts and contractors and consultants, as necessary.
• Functions as a business partner with service lines, departments, individuals, and coworkers.
• Develops expert knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and processes to function effectively as educator and expert for system users.
• Creates/modifies/advises/trains on workflow improvements regarding system usage and design.
• Establishes and leads regular meetings proactively with department heads and/or superusers to identify, document, and prioritize their needs.
• Coordinates operational and capital project requests with appropriate EHC IS and operational teams.
• Acts as primary contact for supported applications regarding system downtime.
• Leads delivery of technical consulting and support services and solutions with minimal management input.
• Takes primary ownership for Epic and other applications software and file maintenance support for break-fixes, optimizations, special updates, upgrades, and implementations.
• Leads/facilitates system design, validation, and/or remediation sessions.
• Assists with Epic Security assignment, security templates, and maintenance where appropriate.
• Remains current on Epic new version training for all applicable Epic certifications (if Epic).
• Provides leadership within and across teams.
• Assists and mentors team members and other staff and serves as orientation resource for new employees.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with team, department, and organization.
• Participates in educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and expertise.
• Serves as a positive change agent within and across teams. Leads/facilitates team and cross-team meetings and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in clinical, business, or other healthcare operational areas or 9 years without a degree.
• This position requires the appropriate Epic certification for the specific area of assigned responsibility.
• Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department areas.

• Epic Certifications:
  • Resolute Hospital Billing Fundamentals for Single Billing Office
  • Resolute Hospital Billing Administration
• Epic Hospital Billing experience across multiple areas such as:
  • Claims
  • Billing edits
  • Workqueues
  • Denials
  • Charge capture
  • Payment posting
  • Integrations
• Revenue cycle background (hospital), i.e., regulatory requirements and how they affect us (i.e., MNC, CCI, LCDS).
• Understanding of flow from scheduling, registration, charges, medical records to patient financial services.
