[Hiring] Engineer II - Development Review @City of Shoreline

Role Description

The City of Shoreline is seeking an energetic and experienced engineer to support civil engineering review of development projects. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, inspectors, and the public. A good understanding of engineering codes, standards, and best management practices related to stormwater, wastewater, and roadway design is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering.
• Knowledge of surface water management and control, including NPDES Phase II requirements.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of right-of-way construction practices and terminology.
• Knowledge of wastewater design and construction principles.
• Knowledge of permit processing and plan review practices.
• Ability to review engineering plans and specifications.
• Ability to inspect permitted engineering work for compliance.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Five years of increasingly responsible development services/engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an applicable field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Washington or ability to obtain registration within one year of hire.
