Role Description

Our client is an innovative clean energy developer, offering custom solar, energy storage, and microgrid solutions to help businesses reduce costs and environmental impact. They manage projects from engineering to installation, making sustainable energy accessible and financially rewarding.

LOCATION: Remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Track contractual deadlines, notices, review periods, change orders, and approvals for all project sites.
  • Ensure project requirements are met to maintain site control and avoid missed contractual obligations.
  • Maintain organized project data rooms and records required for financing and Notice to Proceed (NTP) activities.
  • Monitor contractor, consultant, supplier, and developer compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage subcontract amendments and change orders.
  • Prepare task orders and contract exhibits and obtain required counterparty approvals.
  • Coordinate priorities across multiple external development teams.
  • Manage consultants responsible for structural, civil, electrical, communications, architectural, fire safety, and environmental work.
  • Track deliverables and ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Track permitting deadlines and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) response requirements for more than 40 projects.
  • Support compliance with Massachusetts expedited permitting requirements and other applicable local regulations. Ensure timely submission of required permitting responses.
  • Adapt community outreach materials for site-specific permitting requirements, including:
    • Adapt site-specific community outreach materials as required by the new MA expedited permitting process (i.e., create site-specific posters and graphics, local newspaper notices, and site-specific website and FAQ, and any other materials that are needed for meeting guidelines).
  • Review and understand relevant regulations and utility incentives.
  • Prepare RFP responses.
  • Meet weekly with FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) team so they can update their budget and cashflow tracking to monitor actuals vs. budget.
  • Prepare and process billing and payment requests through internal accounting systems.
  • Expedite payments/approvals on occasions when necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate outreach and monthly reporting to landlords for assigned project locations.
  • Support collaboration across development, engineering, finance, and management teams.
  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Track milestones, risks, upcoming deadlines, and action items.
  • Present concise updates to management as required.
  • Coordinate project financial model updates with the Strategy and Modeling team.
  • Ensure that development assumptions, schedules, and budgets remain current and consistent across planning tools.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience working with US contract forms and securing legal signoffs for various stakeholder commitments.
  • At least 5-7 years of greenfield renewable energy or US real estate or energy project financial analysis experience.
  • Personal experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • U.S. electric utility distribution interconnection processes
    • Renewable energy project development
    • Contract negotiation and contract administration for U.S. renewable energy projects
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience in C&I (Commercial and Industrial) or utility-scale solar or BESS project development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Strong relationship management and team collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Word.
  • Either familiarity with the distribution utility interconnection process at a utility in the United States, or renewable energy development experience, or contract negotiation or administration experience working with US renewable energy projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in at least one of the following:

    • Contract negotiation & administration for U.S. renewable energy projects (including experience with C&I, utility-scale solar, or BESS project development)
    • Securing permitting / utility interconnection for US properties (combined with U.S. real estate development experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong relationship management and team collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Word.
