Role Description

This role involves providing emotional support and counseling services to clients through various communication channels.

Engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email
Create a connection with clients to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for
Provide single session telephonic and video counselling
Offer in-the-moment support and crisis telephonic management
Assess clients thoroughly for appropriateness for short-term counselling
Manage high risk calls and work closely with individuals at risk
Refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of a holistic approach
Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients
Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system
Perform any additional tasks pertinent to the position as deemed appropriate by management

Qualifications

Counsellor or Psychologist degree
Licensure or clinical certification preferred
Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counseling or mental health services
Experience delivering counselling services in Spanish and English
Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools
Experience using short-term counselling modalities such as Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness, Integrative, Systemic counselling
Training in crisis intervention and supporting high risk clients beneficial
Ability to work with clients presenting with substance abuse, crisis situations, mental health symptoms, and/or family/relationship-related concerns impacting personal or work performance
