Role Description

Qualifications

• 3 years with HS Diploma/GED or 1 year with AS degree.
• Experience working with families through counseling, bereavement, and/or crisis intervention.
• Experience with donation approach in an OPO/Tissue environment.

Requirements

• Provide compassionate and professional donation and grief support.
• Engage families in crisis and advocate for eye, tissue, research, and education donation opportunities.
• Secure authorization and complete all required documentation accurately.
• Conduct thorough Donor Risk Assessment Interviews.
• Maintain effective communication with funeral homes, medical examiners, eye banks, hospitals, and donor families.
• Manage donor referrals by responding to opportunities from multiple partners.
• Verify registry status and access hospital EMRs.
• Evaluate donor suitability and perform quality checks on legal documents.
• Assess and triage incoming calls and electronic communications.
• Prioritize urgent needs and route inquiries appropriately.
