[Hiring] District Manager @Urban Outfitters

Role Description

The District Manager will lead and inspire a district of 14 stores by taking a forward-thinking and Omni channel approach to the retail experience. Their goal is to deliver a unique, community-driven, and entrepreneurial store culture by building on the 50-plus year tradition of URBN being a destination for customers in pursuit of creativity and an experiential environment. This position will be based in MI or OH.

Responsibilities

• Brand Experience
  • Leads teams to deliver a welcoming environment through customer engagement that is genuine and efficient.
  • Provides meaningful feedback to store leaders to continually improve the store experience for the customer.
  • Collaborates with Store and Visual leaders on merchandising and display execution in each location.
  • Challenges store teams to evolve and elevate every aspect of the brick-and-mortar experience as Omni channel capabilities expand.
  • Encourages participation in brand campaign events and innovative customer-driven events.
  • Drives digital community connection and inspiration through social media platforms when applicable.
• Leadership + Team Management
  • Prioritizes people and culture through strategic succession planning.
  • Ensures store teams facilitate a thoughtful onboarding for new hires.
  • Engages in growth conversations with all levels of store teams.
  • Collaborates with store leadership to develop individual training plans or management training strategies.
  • Embraces and promotes the open-door policy.
• Visual + Business Operations
  • Assesses district and individual store business using company reporting tools.
  • Oversees and guides store leadership team to plan a strategic approach to brand priorities.
  • Fosters a strategic and creative community for visual priorities execution.
  • Adheres to programs that promote store safety standards and company policy.
• Communication + Relationships
  • Promotes an inclusive district and store environment.
  • Works with various systems of communication to share ideas and information.
  • Champions development by protecting time with direct reports.
  • Leads by example and encourages relationship building across Stores, Districts, URBN brands, and Shared Services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years store or multi-store experience.
• Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results.
• Well-rounded leader with a proven record of hiring and developing creative and operational talent.
• Strong business acumen and ability to achieve visual and operational excellence.
