[Hiring] Director, Ride to End Alzheimer's @Alzheimer's Association®

Role Description

The Director, Ride to End ALZ will serve as the strategic lead for the Association’s cycling event. This includes:

• Management of fundraising team
• Field support, training, and resources for staff and volunteers
• Strategies to grow teams, sponsorship, volunteers, and fundraising dollars

This position will lead the cycling fundraising initiative for the Association, which includes:

• Strategy, recruitment, ride details, coaching, and training program for the nationwide cycling program
• Driving the financial success of the Ride to End ALZ program
• Recruitment of Executive Event Chairs for the 7 in-person events
• Managing and leading a team of fundraisers to achieve revenue goals
• Developing engagement and fundraising plans
• Managing engagement of committee members, teams, participants, and volunteers at multiple ride event locations
• Developing an extensive pipeline to secure national sponsors for the Ride to End ALZ program
• Planning, developing, and driving execution of recruitment, fundraising, and online training materials for participants and volunteers
• Ensuring excellent relationships with local chapters

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of national or regional event management and training experience required in a non-profit environment
• Experience recruiting C suite to lead events and sell top-level sponsorships
• 5+ years of experience managing and coaching staff
• VHA local or regional executive leadership experience preferred
• Organized peer-to-peer experience with the ability to adapt program experience appropriately

• Demonstrated record of accomplishment in leading fundraising events and managing staff
• Proven record of participant recruitment strategies and community recruitment efforts
• Proactive team player with the ability to organize and prioritize a busy workload
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a cross-functional environment
• Understanding of nonprofit business strategies and processes such as event management, volunteer support, and constituent management
• Effective communication with staff and volunteers, providing training guidance positively
• Team player capable of interfacing with all levels of staff and volunteers
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Understanding of various computer systems and databases; proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse constituencies
• This position is remote-based, with travel up to 40%
