Role Description

WattBridge, the world’s preeminent LM6000 delivery platform, is seeking a Director of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Commercial Contracts to lead all EPC contract scoping, request for proposal (RFP), negotiation and execution efforts for our full power delivery platform focused on Data Center Campus style development.

The primary focus of this role leads project teams in delivering large scale natural gas generation development with co-located data center projects with microgrid solutions. This role is both strategic and hands-on, combining contractual oversight with deep involvement in request for proposals, scope, negotiations, and commercial risk management.

As a key member of WattBridge’s management team, you will report directly to WattBridge’s Vice President of Business Development and work alongside senior leaders at the company to advance WattBridge’s high value developments while driving project delivery excellence, safety culture, profitability, and long-term growth.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of Commercial strategies that derisks development, delivers project economics and drives enterprise value
  • Oversee commercial management of major EPC contracts—scope, RFP, negotiations, change orders, and cost control measures
  • Drive process improvement and standardization in project controls, reporting, and risk management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and client contract requirements
  • Conduct contract reviews to ensure technical risks are identified and managed
  • Assemble scope tables and descriptions to facilitate the generation of cost models
  • Define preliminary project schedules and inputs required for LOB creation of detailed project schedules
  • Review and customize cash flow analyses on projects to optimize payment milestone proposals
  • Establish, manage, and regularly update operational budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics
  • Perform customer and vendor pre-qualifications
  • Develop, maintain and track proposal information
  • Compile reference lists, experience lists, and supplemental documents
  • Communicate bid documents internally and externally
  • Manage outside vendors when necessary to complete a bid with the generation of preliminary vendor technical specifications
  • Collaborate effectively with the Development, Origination, Technical Solutions, Finance and Regulatory teams
  • Ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget
  • Select, manage, and direct third party consultants, review their work product and deliver cost effective development solutions
  • Support bank, investor and off-taker due diligence in an effort to close on lender financing, equity capital, and offtake agreements
  • Work with Development and Origination team to project development spend budgets and manage to most cost-effective outcome

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, technical or business or a related discipline
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred but not required
  • 15+ years of commercial, technical, or professionally related experience in the Power, Energy and/or Oil & Gas sectors
  • This should include at least 2 years of technical writing, and at least 5 years of experience with Terms & Conditions, as a portion of their previous responsibilities
  • Proven success managing complex, multi-discipline construction contracts exceeding $100M+
  • Strong financial and business acumen with demonstrated technical, economic and commercial evaluation in supporting decision making
  • Ability to work effectively across executive leadership, operations, finance, legal, technical teams, customers, and external partners
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Expertise in project controls, commercial contracting, and change-management processes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and prioritize critical path tasks
  • Ability to lead in a new or evolving role, build structure, and establish practical processes that support growth and accountability
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities, industrial services, data center or another asset-based commercial environment
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial office environment
  • Familiarity with market analysis, pricing strategy, contract economics, capital project evaluation, and operational readiness considerations
  • Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
