Role Description

Guidehouse’s Health Technology Consulting (HTC) practice is seeking a Director to lead complex health technology programs across our Commercial Health client portfolio. The Director serves as a senior delivery leader and client advisor, responsible for program outcomes, executive relationships, team development, and business growth. This individual brings demonstrated experience leading large-scale EHR and health technology initiatives, the ability to communicate technology outcomes in terms of operational and financial impact, and the presence to build credible relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

• Program Leadership and Delivery:
  • Lead multi-workstream health technology programs from initiation through stabilization.
  • Responsible for program governance, workstream integration, risk identification and escalation, resource coordination, and overall delivery quality.
  • Engagements span clinical, financial, and operational domains simultaneously.
  • Structure work clearly and maintain delivery discipline across a large team.
  • Resolve issues to keep engagements on track and clients confident in Guidehouse’s work.
• Executive Communication and Business Impact Translation:
  • Translate technology program outcomes into the language of health system leadership.
  • Communicate connections between EHR decisions and operational performance to executive sponsors.
  • Develop findings and recommendations that inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong executive presentation skills required.
• Change Management, Adoption, and Training:
  • Ensure change management, training, and end-user adoption are core delivery components.
  • Build adoption strategies reflecting how clinical and operational staff work in practice.
  • Design training programs that develop durable capability within the client organization.
  • Establish mechanisms to measure whether change has been absorbed and embedded.
• Stakeholder Engagement Across the Spectrum of Influence:
  • Build and manage effective working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Guidehouse Partners, Practice Leaders, and colleagues across the Health segment.
  • Manage relationships from frontline implementation champions to board-level executive sponsors.
  • Support business development activity, including identification of new opportunities.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead engagement teams that may span ten or more professionals.
  • Set clear expectations and provide consistent performance feedback.
  • Support professional development and maintain team cohesion.
  • Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and capability-building within the HTC practice.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of combined experience in health IT consulting, EHR program leadership, or health system operations.
• Demonstrated leadership of large, complex health technology programs.
• EHR platform fluency, with depth in Epic and working knowledge of other major platforms.
• Proven experience presenting to and advising C-suite health system leaders.
• Experience designing and leading change management, end-user training, and adoption programs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, distributed teams and develop staff.
• Experience contributing to business development activity.
• Fluency in health system operational and financial metrics relevant to EHR program outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in health informatics, business administration, public health, or a related field (nice to have).
• Experience working across payer and provider client environments (nice to have).
• Familiarity with healthcare IT standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance considerations (nice to have).
• Experience supporting or contributing to digital transformation, AI integration, or analytics strategy (nice to have).
