[Hiring] Dev Rel (Docs & YouTube) @Firecrawl

YDay - Firecrawl is hiring a remote Dev Rel (Docs & YouTube). πŸ’Έ Salary: $150,000–$200,000/year πŸ“Location: UTC-5 to UTC-3, UTC-2

Role Description

You'll be the person developers learn Firecrawl from β€” through docs that actually help them build, YouTube tutorials they watch start to finish, and community presence that makes them feel like they're building alongside us, not just consuming our API. We have the product. We need the person who makes it impossible to not understand.

What You'll Do

  • Own Firecrawl's technical documentation β€” rewriting, restructuring, and maintaining docs so both humans and AI agents can discover and use the product effectively.
  • Run and grow our YouTube channel β€” scripting, filming, editing, and publishing a consistent cadence of tutorials, walkthroughs, and demos developers actually finish watching.
  • Build a presence in the AI engineering and open source community β€” on social, at conferences, in Discord servers, in the places developers actually hang out.
  • Translate developer feedback into product insights and route them clearly to engineering.
  • Create content that drives adoption β€” not just views β€” by meeting developers where they are in the build process.
  • Show up on camera and on stage: conference talks, livestreams, Twitter Spaces, wherever our developers are.

Qualifications

  • An engineer who can teach with a software engineering background and experience building with APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.
  • A YouTube operator with experience owning a technical YouTube channel, knowing the full workflow: scripting for retention, filming efficiently, editing for technical audiences, and building a publishing cadence.
  • Fluent in the AI/ML developer ecosystem, understanding agents, LLM tooling, orchestration frameworks, and RAG pipelines.
  • Thinks about docs as infrastructure, understanding that documentation needs to be structured for machines as much as humans.
  • Community-connected with real relationships in the AI engineering or open source world.
  • Backgrounds that often do well: DevRel at an API-first or developer tools company, software engineer who started a technical YouTube channel, open source contributor with a content track record.

What We're NOT Looking For

  • Content marketers who have never shipped code.
  • People who measure DevRel success in video views over developer adoption.
  • Anyone waiting for a content calendar to be handed to them before they start creating.

Benefits

  • Salary that makes sense β€” $150,000–$200,000/year (SF, U.S.-based), based on impact, not tenure.
  • Own a piece β€” Up to 0.1% equity in what you're helping build.
  • Generous PTO β€” 15 days mandatory, anything after 24 days, just ask (holidays excluded); take the time you need to recharge.
  • Parental leave β€” 12 weeks fully paid, for moms and dads.
  • Wellness stipend β€” $100/month for the gym, therapy, massages, or whatever keeps you human.
  • Learning & Development β€” Expense up to $1,000/year toward anything that helps you grow professionally.
  • Team offsites β€” A change of scenery, minus the trust falls.
  • Sabbatical β€” 3 paid months off after 4 years, do something fun and new.

Available to US-based full-time employees

  • Full coverage, no red tape β€” Medical, dental, and vision (100% for employees, 50% for spouse/kids).
  • Life & Disability insurance β€” Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Supplemental options β€” Optional accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and voluntary life insurance.
  • Doctegrity telehealth β€” Talk to a doctor from your couch.
  • 401(k) plan β€” Retirement might be a ways off, but future-you will thank you.
  • Pre-tax benefits β€” Access to FSAs and commuter benefits (US-only).
  • Pet insurance β€” Because fur babies are family too.

Available to SF-based employees

  • SF HQ perks β€” Snacks, drinks, team lunches, intense ping pong, and peak startup energy.
  • E-Bike transportation β€” A loaner electric bike to get you around the city, on us.

Interview Process

  • Application Review β€” Send us your work: a YouTube channel you've grown, docs you've owned, or technical content you've created.
  • Intro Chat (~20 min) β€” Quick alignment call.
  • Deep Dive Chat (~45 min) β€” Walk us through a real example of content or docs work that measurably grew developer adoption.
  • Founder Chat (~30 min) β€” Culture, pace, ownership, and how you like to work.
  • Paid Work Trial (1–2 weeks) β€” Build something real: a tutorial, a doc rewrite, or a short-form video.
  • Decision β€” We move fast after the trial.

If you want to be the voice developers learn Firecrawl from β€” and you have the engineering chops and content track record to back it up β€” this is your shot.
