Role Description
We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our Global Marine & Navy team as a Fire Detection Design Engineer. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating fire alarm design drawings that meet stringent marine regulations, with direct reporting to the Engineering Manager.
- Develop fire detection and alarm designs in line with marine standards, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and industry regulations.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to interpret technical specifications and commercial documentation, contributing to the success of marine fire detection projects.
- Act as a key point of contact, providing engineering solutions and working closely with clients and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Produce and deliver high-quality documentation on time, ensuring projects are completed within budget and according to client specifications.
- Travel within the UK and overseas as required to survey existing systems, set up equipment for Factory Acceptance Tests, and ensure systems are tested and ready before deployment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical engineering.
- Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Strong ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid knowledge of Fire & Gas detection equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD for design work.
Requirements
- Experience with software and graphic systems.
- Full UK driving license.
- Familiarity with Tyco Fire Detection systems.
- Prior experience in Fire & Gas design.
- SC clearance or BPSS clearance, particularly for work on MOD projects.
