[Hiring] Deltek Costpoint Subject Matter Expert @Avanza LLC

Role Description

Avanza is seeking an experienced Deltek Costpoint Subject Matter Expert to support a business systems assessment. The SME will serve as the lead functional expert for evaluating the client's current Costpoint environment, identifying opportunities to improve utilization and integration, and developing recommendations for the future-state systems architecture.

• Assess the current configuration, utilization, workflows, and business processes supported by Deltek Costpoint, including project accounting, finance, procurement, inventory, labor, and related functionality.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and working sessions to document current-state processes, pain points, functional gaps, manual workarounds, and system dependencies.
• Evaluate opportunities to better leverage existing Costpoint capabilities and reduce redundant or legacy systems.
• Assess the integration and synchronization of ADP Workforce Now and Costpoint, particularly for timekeeping, payroll, labor charging, and resource management.
• Evaluate the relative merits of retaining timekeeping in ADP versus adopting Costpoint Time & Expense.
• Assess integration opportunities between Costpoint and other enterprise applications, including asset management, accounts payable, travel/expense, and legacy databases.
• Contribute to the systems gap analysis, future-state architecture, cost-benefit analysis, and implementation roadmap.
• Provide practical recommendations aligned with government-contractor accounting, internal controls, and federal compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Avanza's engagement leadership, functional SMEs, and technology/integration resources to develop and validate final recommendations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Deltek Costpoint experience, preferably in consulting, implementation, administration, or business-process optimization roles.
• Deep functional knowledge of Costpoint accounting, project accounting, labor, payroll interfaces, procurement, and related modules.
• Experience with Costpoint Time & Expense and integrations with payroll/HR systems such as ADP.
• Strong understanding of government contracting financial processes, labor charging, indirect costs, project accounting, and related compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting system assessments, requirements analysis, gap analysis, or ERP optimization engagements.
• Ability to translate complex Costpoint functionality into clear business recommendations for executive and functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, interviewing, documentation, and client-facing communication skills.

Engagement Profile

This is a consulting/SME role supporting a 12 week business systems assessment. The emphasis is on evaluating the client's existing environment and developing actionable recommendations rather than performing a Costpoint implementation. The SME will work as part of an Avanza-led multidisciplinary assessment team.
