Role Description

The Database Administrator position requires knowledge of Azure, MDM Expertise, Azure Databricks, DevOps, Database Management, and development and automation. The position requires an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to complete requests successfully against established timelines with limited supervision. This position also requires the ability to learn and apply new technology, work independently or in a team environment, and collaborate with all levels of staff to satisfy business needs.

The Worker is responsible for performing computer systems analysis or development work. Work involves coordinating, planning, and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. This role may also be responsible for the following:

• Azure Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure SQL Database and other database offerings.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Familiarity with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure CLI, and PowerShell scripting.
• Azure Databricks Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks and data warehouse concepts.
• MDM Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of Informatica MDM and data profiling.
• DevOps Expertise:
  • Experience implementing DevOps practices, such as Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration with development teams to integrate database changes.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Deployment exposure in Salesforce and MuleSoft environments.
• Database Management:
  • Proficient in administration, maintenance, tuning, and optimization for Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sybase, and other databases.
  • Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Experience in database security, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization.
• Development and Automation:
  • Proficiency in Oracle and PostgreSQL with ability to write complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Ability to create, manage, and monitor deployment and migration strategies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance analysis to optimize database performance.
  • Strong expertise in troubleshooting database performance issues.
• Soft Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication, including technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in data warehouse aggregation and integration of data across multiple applications (Required)
• 4 years of experience assessing existing databases and multiple information sources for integration, improved data access, storage, and transparency (Required)
• 4 years of experience in data warehouse implementation processes: requirements, modeling, design, ETL, SQL, tuning (Required)
• 4 years of experience with Enterprise Portal Application working knowledge (Required)
• 4 years of excellent communication skills for leading development activities, leadership presentations, and training (Required)
• 3 years of experience with user journey mapping, storyboarding, mockups, wireframes, usability design, prototyping (Required)
• 2 years of experience in performance management dashboard development (Required)
• 2 years of strong knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, Oracle APEX (Preferred)
• 2 years of strong knowledge of Azure AD B2C, Azure ADF (Preferred)
• 2 years of strong scripting with Python for data integration (Preferred)
• 2 years of familiarity with Informatica MDM and Informatica Data Governance (Preferred)
• 1 year of experience in technical documentation: Design Docs, Standards, Configuration Plans (Preferred)
• 1 year of Agile software development team participation (Preferred)
• 1 year of government data reporting experience (Federal/State/Local) (Preferred)
• 1 year of knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 / Sec 508) (Preferred)

Requirements

• Contractor must have their own equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.).
• Access to a virtual desktop setup (software) will be provided by Lumen’s client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.
