Role Description

The Data Entry Typist will type and process medical records, scheduling notes, insurance details, and internal documentation with exceptional speed and accuracy. This remote position requires strong concentration, consistent productivity, and the ability to handle sensitive healthcare information with discretion. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable managing work independently in a remote environment while supporting administrative workflows.

• Type and update patient information, medical forms, billing details, and internal records into secure databases.
• Perform remote document processing, including formatting, proofreading, and organizing digital files.
• Review and audit typed content to ensure compliance with organizational and healthcare documentation standards.
• Communicate with administrative and clinical teams to clarify incomplete or unclear information.
• Maintain accuracy, speed, and consistency while performing a high volume of typing tasks.
• Use remote tools and cloud-based systems to manage workloads efficiently.
• Participate in data audits, reporting, and documentation cleanup projects as needed.
• Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience as a typist, data entry clerk, medical documentation assistant, or similar role.
• Excellent typing accuracy with a minimum of 55 wpm.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a remote setting.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, medical terminology, and digital filing practices is a plus.
• Clear communication skills and strong time-management capabilities.
