Role Description

The Customs Bond Specialist is responsible for administering customs bonds and Powers of Attorney while ensuring compliance with CBP rules and regulations. This is a remote position for candidates in certain states.

• Process customs bond applications, renewals, and billings
• Monitor bond sufficiency reports and recommend bond adjustments
• Communicate with customers on bond requirements, renewals, and insufficiencies
• Administer Powers of Attorney (POAs) following CBP rules and regulations
• Maintain bond files, records, and reports
• Work with surety providers to resolve bond-related issues
• Handle U.S. and Canadian Customs Bonds
• Advise Operations teams and ports on bond and POA matters
• Stay current on customs bond requirements and regulatory changes

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in customs brokerage
• Bachelor's degree preferred, equivalent education and experience considered
• Solid understanding of import entry process including HTS, COO, Valuation, etc.
• Working knowledge of customs bonds, POAs, and CBP rules and regulations
• Ability to analyze customer import activity to identify bond needs
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Experience managing customer/client relationships
• Organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
