Role Description

As a Curriculum Developer at American College of Education, you are a key architect of postsecondary learning experiences for adult learners, with project management and communication skills to collaborate closely with eContent Learning Designers and subject matter experts (SMEs) across various disciplines.

  • Support SMEs to design curricula and provide current, career-relevant, research-based content for innovative online courses.
  • Develop learning objectives, learning activities, learning resources, and assessments that align with program outcomes and college's mission and initiatives.
  • Translate SME’s knowledge into course documents used to create engaging learning experiences that meet quality assurance benchmarks, foster student success, and increase student satisfaction.
  • Thrive in a competitive yet collaborative virtual environment, contributing to the college's academic excellence and reputation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, curriculum development, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in higher education or K–12 education
  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum design and development
  • Quality Matters Rubric Application certification (or required to complete within first 4 months of employment)
  • Experience in academic writing, proofreading, and copyediting across disciplines
  • Experience with a learning management systems (LMS)

  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and with other department personnel.

  • Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.
  • Must be collaborative in driving decisions and a team-player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Builds and maintains student satisfaction.
  • Recognizes and anticipates student needs.
