Role Description

BerryDunn is seeking a Staff Consultant to join BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group. As a Staff Consultant, you will accelerate your professional and personal growth through learning and collaborating with senior members of our Medicaid Practice Group. You will learn to provide services to state Medicaid agencies throughout the country in the design, development, financing, implementation, and evaluation of their Medicaid programs. Currently, our team is engaged with Medicaid projects at different stages with a focus on Medicaid strategic planning, system implementation, and program transformation. We are looking for entry-level professionals interested in the government consulting industry to join our team. You will report to senior members of our Medicaid Practice Group and will bring experience or relevant coursework relating to public administration, healthcare, or other relevant consulting topics to our team.

Travel Expectations

• This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year.
• Travel to client sites can range up to 50%.

You Will

• Assist in providing consulting services to clients under the supervision of more experienced consultants.
• Follow appropriate diagnostic, data collection, fact-finding, and data analysis practices.
• Assist in conducting research, assisting with detailed and technical aspects of the engagement, documenting the engagement, and assisting with engagement reporting.
• Perform assigned administrative tasks.
• Develop concise summaries, reports, and presentations of complex data for client leadership.
• Facilitate meetings and interviews with client stakeholders.
• Assist with project management tasks such as tracking and reporting project progress, maintaining project document repository, and reviewing deliverables for quality assurance.
• Provide ad hoc assessments and briefings in response to client requests.
• Continue to grow professionally through a program of self-development and formal continuing professional education programs.
• Participate/Support firm-wide initiatives, including new business development.
• Work toward obtaining appropriate professional certifications.

You Have

• A BA/BS/MS Degree in Political Science, Public Health, Economics, Management Information Systems, Health Care Management or Business.
• Three or more years working in a professional setting applying analytical skills or providing acquisition services OR Five or more years of progressive experience in a related field.
• Understanding of general technology concepts.
• Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong time management skills for balancing multiple assignments and achieving quality results in a timely manner.
• Experience with MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• A strong client service attitude.

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
