Role Description

We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a full-time Lead Construction Manager role in various locations throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience working on major tunnel construction projects and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. We are looking for a motivated professional with a forward-thinking mindset, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit.

Essential Functions:

• Team Leader: Experience successfully managing multiple tasks, projects, and technical staff.
• Construction Administration:
  • Oversee construction projects from start to completion.
  • Manage construction inspection assignments or site visits.
  • Write letters and correspondence to contractors, owners, and third parties.
  • Maintain and review tracking sheets/logs for various project issues.
  • Review contractor correspondence and submittals.
  • Ensure contractor adherence to contract requirements.
  • Attend meetings with third parties to represent the project.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines to review documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Report on status with the owner.
  • Review pay applications and lead discussions on commercial items.
• Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Business Development: Demonstrated success developing relationships with clients.
• Technical Writing: Proficiency in technical writing including letters and reports.
• Company Representation: Increase visibility by participating in regional initiatives and conferences.
• Field-based assignments may include weekdays, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study required; master’s degree a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred but not required.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification and/or Nationally Certified Tunnel Inspector (NTIS) Certification preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in Tunnel Construction Management required.
• Proven work history as a Resident Engineer and/or Construction Manager with tunneling experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other disciplines.

• Ideal candidate will provide project management for planning and organizing all aspects of relevant projects.
• Oversee the work of peers/subordinates and handle project-related issues.

Benefits

• Compensation: $200,000+ based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
