[Hiring] Civil/Structural Substation Engineer @ENTRUST

Role Description

• Responsible for Civil and Structural Engineering related tasks as assigned, with minimal to moderate guidance, in support of Electrical Substation design.
• Perform structural steel, structure anchorage, and concrete foundation designs.
• Generate structural steel and reinforced concrete details.
• Develop structural analysis models and design of steel structures and equipment support foundations.
• Utilize in-house developed design tools to assist in analysis, post-processing, and creating construction drawing information.
• Assist in the preparation of calculation reports and packages, steel and rebar fabrication shop drawing review, and construction submittal review.
• Involved in executing structural steel and concrete analysis, design, and detailing for transmission and distribution electrical substations with voltage classes up to and including 345kV.
• Review and produce civil/structural design drawings including Site Plan, Grading and Drainage Plan and Details, Foundation Plan and Details, and Oil Containment Plan and Details.
• Work towards developing a self-directed autonomous level of responsibility while under the direction and supervision of a registered Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer licensure or EIT certification with plans to obtain PE license within 2 years.
• 2-6+ years of civil/structural substation design engineering experience, preferably at an engineering consulting firm (can be evaluated at higher level based on experience).
• Experience with Excel, Word, Mathcad, RISA3D, MFAD, L-Pile, EnerCALC, and AutoCAD are preferred.
• Familiarity with standard building codes including IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and AWS (Experience with ASCE 113, NESC, or IEEE standards a plus).
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% when needed within the continental US.
