Role Description

You position the company as a pioneer of data-driven business models in Europe and help define how the financial industry of tomorrow will utilize data.

• You actively drive the company’s technological vision—ranging from new technologies to entirely new product concepts—while maintaining a consistent customer-centric focus.
• You independently conduct sales discussions at the C-level, inspiring decision-makers with your technological foresight and a clear understanding of the business value for them.
• You collaborate with our customers to identify new use cases and develop viable business ideas and models based on our existing capabilities.
• You own the technology roadmap, prioritizing initiatives clearly and based on data to ensure engineering and product teams focus on the areas that deliver the greatest impact.
• You work closely with our founder and executive leadership as a strategic partner, actively shaping fino’s strategic direction.
• You measure the success of your decisions using clear metrics and consistently derive the next steps from those insights.

Qualifications

• You bring several years of experience in a CTO, VP of Engineering, or comparable technical leadership role, ideally within the FinTech or banking sector.
• You possess an entrepreneurial and visionary mindset, a keen sense for emerging technologies, and the ability to independently derive promising business models from them.
• You are characterized by a strong hands-on mentality and genuinely enjoy championing and advancing your ideas directly in client discussions.
• You communicate clearly and persuasively with clients, your team, and executive management—including at the decision-maker level.
• You possess a deep technical understanding of modern cloud architectures, APIs, data analytics, and AI, as well as the security and regulatory requirements of the banking industry.
• You are fluent in German and English (negotiation level) and—given our ongoing European expansion—ideally possess additional foreign language skills.

Requirements

• Several years in a CTO/VP Engineering (or similar) role within FinTech or banking.
• English C1, German C1 language proficiency.
• Technical Skills Required: Engineering Management, Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), REST/GraphQL APIs, data analytics & AI/ML stacks, banking security & compliance frameworks.
