[Hiring] Chief of Staff @Sword

Role Description

As Chief of Staff you are the right hand of the Managing Director Germany. You drive the most important cross-functional projects from idea to execution across our B2B2C and B2C sales channels in Germany.

• Run the operating rhythm of the German business.
• Build the analyses behind key decisions.
• Act as the MD's proxy with Sword's global teams.
• Take on leadership responsibility very quickly.
• This is a hands-on role with a steep learning curve and a clear path into a leadership position.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead strategic projects end to end: E.g., Optimize existing sales & partnership channels and drive growth.
• Run the management cadence: weekly business reviews, reporting to Sword leadership.
• Build business cases and analyses: channel economics, CAC by channel, market sizing, partnership and inorganic growth options.
• Take over high-priority operational topics when needed (e.g., first hires, process set-up, vendor negotiations).
• Be the interface to Sword global functions (Finance, Legal, Market Access, People).

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in strategy consulting – experience at McKinsey, BCG or Bain is a plus, as is first experience in a scale-up.
• Excellent structured problem solving; strong in Excel/Sheets and executive communication.
• Hands-on execution mindset – comfortable spending half your time on operational delivery.
• Fluent German and English.
• Nice to have: healthcare practice experience, German healthcare knowledge (GKV, DiGA, market access), experience with Krankenkassen or B2B employer partnerships.

• AI fluency is a core expectation at Sword.
• Every candidate is assessed against our three-level framework:
• Explorer (Level 1) — Uses AI daily to boost personal productivity.
• Builder (Level 2) — Creates workflows and tools that elevate the whole team.
• Integrator (Level 3) — Embeds AI into products and processes at scale.
• Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.

• Total Compensation Range: €91.000 — €130.000 EUR.
