Role Description

As a Cantonese Video-Phone Interpreter, you will be responsible for handling calls on demand, rendering the meaning of conversations between Cantonese and English speakers. You will break the communication barrier in various industries, including:

Essential Job Functions include:

• Responding to video and audio interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Participating in online training sessions.
• Delivering interpretation services via video while typing data on a dedicated device.
• Rendering correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Remaining calm during stressful situations, especially in emergency calls.
• Following client instructions and maintaining compliance with protocols.
• Demonstrating commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese and English, with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages is highly preferred.
