[Hiring] Business Development & Systems Manager @1 Stop HR

YDay - 1 Stop HR is hiring a remote Business Development & Systems Manager. 💸 Salary: unspecified 📍Location: Canada

Company Description

Our client is a large private practice clinic founded in 2009.  Their clinic is a dynamic, collaborative mental health practice with strong ties to academic institutions, hospital-based programs, and community service providers. They strive to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed care through a range of services, and they rely on thoughtful, well-designed systems to support that mission. As their team continues to grow, they are investing in the development of operational, technological, and strategic structures that allow their clinicians and staff to work effectively and sustainably. Our client also engages in partnerships and consulting work with both public and private organizations, and they are expanding the systems and processes that support this work. The Business Development & Systems Manager plays a key role in strengthening their internal operations, enhancing their technological infrastructure, and supporting the development of new initiatives that help the clinic meet the evolving needs of their clients, community, and organizational partners.

Job Description

The hired person will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and day-to-day management of the clinic’s technological infrastructure and systems. This includes maintaining and optimizing the electronic health records (EHR) platform, ensuring data security and regulatory compliance, managing user access and training, and leading the implementation of new technologies. The role involves close collaboration with clinical and operational teams to support the integration of technology into service delivery, as well as coordinating with external vendors to maintain and enhance IT resources. The manager also plays a key role in developing and executing technology strategies that align with the clinic’s goals for growth, efficiency, and high-quality client care.  The Business Development & Systems Manager will report primarily to the Chief Financial Officer, and will be expected to work in close collaboration with clinical and administrative staff, the Operations Manager and the Clinical Manager, and the clinic directors.

For this role, applicants should have formal education (College or University degree) in a technology-related field such as Information Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Health Informatics, or Information Systems Management. Applicants with equivalent professional experience supporting technology systems in healthcare, mental health, or other regulated environments will also be considered. Additional training or certification in areas such as health informatics, project management, IT service management (e.g., ITIL), or relevant post-graduate technology programs is considered an asset.
Please note that this role will begin as maternity leave coverage. When the team member returns, there is a strong possibility that the successful candidate will continue with the organization in a longer-term capacity. The exact nature of that ongoing role will depend on several factors, including organizational needs at the time, their evolving technology roadmap, and the fit between the candidate’s skills and the direction of their systems development work.  Our client anticipates that there may be opportunities—potentially substantial ones—for the successful candidate to support key operational, digital infrastructure, and AI-integration initiatives as their practice continues to grow. Candidates with strong technical aptitude, an interest in project management, and a desire to contribute to system-level improvement are especially encouraged to apply.  While they cannot guarantee the precise shape of the post-coverage role, they want to signal that there is meaningful potential for a longer-term pathway for the right person, aligned with the next phase of their practice’s technology and workflow evolution.

This is a remote position. Applicants must provide their own laptop/computer and internet when working.

  • Training or certification in cybersecurity, network administration, or health informatics.
  • Experience developing or refining technology policies and procedures, including security protocols and disaster-recovery plans.
  • Skills in data analysis or reporting, supporting decision-making for clinical, operational, or quality-improvement initiatives.

  • Comfort navigating vendor negotiations, contract reviews, or procurement processes in a clinical setting.
  • A strong interest in emerging technologies relevant to mental health care and digital service delivery.
