Role Description

• Manage all aspects of billing, including preparing and submitting medical claims to insurers for reimbursement.
• Request and obtain prior authorizations for services to ensure timely patient care while adhering to payer guidelines.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and authorization requests, addressing any discrepancies or issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate records of billing, payment, and authorization documentation through electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Communicate regularly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives to resolve billing and authorization inquiries.
• Monitor billing trends and authorization metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and authorizations in a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and payer-specific requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in EHR systems and billing software along with standard office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate working with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
• Comfortable working U.S. hours.
