Position: Bilingual Japanese Generalist Expert — AI Safety

Type: Contract

Compensation: $48–$52/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Japanese across a range of sensitive subject areas.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Flag adversarial phrasings and escalation patterns. Document the reasoning behind your judgments.
• Work independently and asynchronously to evaluate and strengthen AI models handling sensitive topics.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese.
• Business-level written English.
• A Bachelor's degree, completed or in progress.
• Strong written reasoning and high attention to detail.
• Sound judgment around sensitive and dual-use information.

Requirements

• Based in Japan or the wider East Asia region (preferred).
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content (preferred).
• Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing (preferred).
