Role Description

The Bilingual Education Specialist I plays a vital role in empowering individuals, families, and support networks affected by inheritable blood and bleeding disorders through the development and delivery of dynamic bilingual educational content. Reporting to the Manager of Education, this role focuses on creating English and Spanish educational materials and program plans that promote health education, risk prevention, and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Execute live education events, including planning logistics, recruiting speakers, and coordinating participants as needed.
  • Collaborate with chapters and Hemophilia Treatment Centers on local educational events—meeting educational requests, securing speakers, coordinating travel logistics, and managing contracts and agreements.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations in both Spanish and English at local and national events.
  • Oversee volunteer and participant management by recruiting working groups, planning committee members, and coordinating meetings and logistical support.
  • Create diverse educational content in various formats (workshops, presentations, print materials, videos, etc.) for online platforms and live delivery.
  • Coordinate with consultants for content editing and development to ensure materials are accurate and engaging.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and with external stakeholders to support the overall development and marketing of educational programming.
  • Support the assessment of educational programs and initiatives, and compile outcome reports.
  • Carry out administrative duties in support of various programs and the organization overall, ensuring timely completion.
  • Maintain proactive communication with supervisors and collaborators about tasks and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in public health or community service environment
  • Experience in public speaking and presentation skills required, with the ability to create and present educational content in Spanish
  • Familiarity with project management, program development, and execution
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work with and influence diverse groups of people, with a strong desire to connect with the community and positively impact health outcomes
  • Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software tools
  • Proficient in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is required

Compensation

For this position, NBDF has set the salary at $55,000 and it is non-negotiable due to our company's commitment to maintaining internal pay equity.
