[Hiring] Audiovisual Specialist @NV5

Role Description

The Audiovisual Field Specialist provides field inspection and commissioning services for our clients' technology-enriched spaces. The position will require that the candidate represent NV5 and our Client to observe site field conditions, inspect existing systems, and ensure installed systems accurately meet the design and operational intent and our client’s established standards. This is a fully remote position, with frequent travel to client sites within the candidate's assigned geographical region.

• Coordinate all work closely with both internal and external Project Managers.
• Evaluate existing audiovisual and network systems and document site conditions in sufficient detail to support the client’s goals and inform recommended corrective actions.
• Prepare site reports that clearly identify existing conditions, deficiencies, roadblocks, and other observations requiring attention.
• Review and interpret audiovisual system drawings, electronic schematics, architectural plans, project documentation, and scopes of work to confirm installation quality, completeness, and alignment with the design intent.
• Perform audiovisual field engineering and commissioning activities, including point-to-point testing and the setup, configuration, and verification of audio, video, control, and digital signal processing systems.
• Configure IP-addressable devices and establish network communications. Upload and download control programs, develop DSP programming, and make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer.
• Fine-tune audio, video, control, and DSP systems to support optimal performance and verify that completed installations meet established project requirements and client standards.
• Develop, track, and close project punch lists; prepare final job documentation and follow-up reports; provide client training; and serve as the primary customer liaison when required.
• Travel frequently to project sites and perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization while adapting to evolving priorities and maintaining NV5’s standards for quality, schedule, and client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical audiovisual roles, including direct experience with field engineering, system commissioning, diagnostics, or related activities.
• Strong knowledge of audiovisual systems, including projection and display systems; sound and speech reinforcement; conferencing and collaboration systems; digital signal processing; signal distribution and routing; and control systems.
• Strong computer skills, including experience configuring networked audiovisual systems, establishing network parameters, and loading audio DSP and control system configuration files.
• General knowledge of Information Technology services, network hardware, infrastructure, structured cabling, and system architecture.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills, with a professional, customer service-focused approach appropriate for a client-facing position.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment and be willing to work occasional off-hours to accommodate client schedules.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to client sites within the assigned region, with occasional travel to other cities throughout the country.
• Possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license and meet company driver eligibility requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with Acoustical Test Equipment (NTI; StudioSix) is preferred.
• Possess and maintain necessary manufacturer training, specifically QSC.
• Current CTS-I certification or willingness to obtain CTS-I certification within one year.
