Role Description

This position involves conducting strength and conditioning programs for various intercollegiate athletic teams, primarily focusing on Men’s Ice Hockey. The role supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by ensuring compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

  • Scientific-based development of Individual & Team Specific programs to correct movement patterns, increase physical durability, and enhance overall athletic performance.
  • Implement Speed-Agility-Strength Training, Mobility-Flexibility-Neural activation techniques, testing/evaluation protocols, and rehabilitation procedures.
  • Assist in the overall growth and implementation of Human Performance & Wellness standards throughout the department.
  • Provide nutritional education and manage the distribution of products.
  • Oversee the maintenance and scheduling of strength and conditioning facilities and equipment, including research and recommendations for new equipment and technology.
  • Attend necessary sport staff meetings as designated by the Head Coaches.
  • Assist Human Performance Staff in covering other team/individual workouts when necessary.
  • Utilize Excel, Word, or other technology for the development and tracking of athlete programs and progress.
  • Participate in ICA department activities, including service on committees and attendance at all scheduled meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, NCHA, and University rules and regulations related to strength and conditioning.
  • Required team travel with Hockey.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Strength and Conditioning Coaching Experience.
  • CSCS or SCCC Certified.
  • CPR/AED Certified.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related disciplines (preferred).
  • Experience and/or background in Ice Hockey Strength & Conditioning.
  • Experience with FMS and/or Dari usage (preferred).
  • Bonus: Experience running a facility.
