Role Description

Outlier needs your expertise as we work to improve AI models' ability to reason about Computer Systems & Networks, Distributed Systems, Database Systems, or Cybersecurity.

You will:

  • Train AI models by crafting and answering questions related to Computer Systems & Networks
  • Evaluate and rank responses generated by AI systems
  • Use your domain expertise to assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models

Qualifications

  • A PhD in Computer Systems, Computer Science / Engineering, or a related technical subject with relevant research experience
  • Ability to write engaging, accurate, and insightful content related to Computer Systems & Networks, Distributed Systems, Database Systems, or Cybersecurity
  • Research and fact-checking abilities: attention to detail and commitment to presenting credible and reliable content
  • Strong storytelling and narrative skills and ability to craft captivating narratives
  • Exceptional writing skills, with a focus on clarity, brevity, and engagement

Requirements

  • Professional writing experience as a researcher, journalist, technical writer, editor, or similar roles (Nice to Have)
  • Solid subject matter knowledge in other subfields of Computer Systems & Networks (Nice to Have)
  • Interest in AI and machine learning concepts (Nice to Have)

Earnings

  • Base Pay: up to $14.70 - $45.00 per hour USD, depending on your level of expertise
  • This is a freelance position that is paid on a per-hour basis
  • You must be authorized to work in your country of residence
  • We will not be providing sponsorship since this is a 1099 contract opportunity
  • Compensation rates may differ for non-US locations
