[Hiring] ADC & Bispecific Antibody R&D Scientist @24-MAG

Role Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced preclinical R&D scientists with hands-on expertise in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), bispecific or multispecific antibodies, and in-house drug development. This role supports a research initiative focused on improving how advanced computational systems reason about real-world biologics discovery and preclinical development. Selected experts will review scientific materials and programme data, evaluate technical outputs, contribute practical judgement on modality and development decisions, and help define high-quality data structures grounded in authentic ADC and bispecific R&D workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• ADC & Bispecific Programme Review
  • Review technical materials and scientific data from ADC, bispecific, and multispecific antibody programmes
  • Evaluate whether analyses and conclusions reflect realistic preclinical development practice
  • Identify weak assumptions, unsupported claims, and biologically implausible outputs
  • Apply hands-on programme experience to complex development scenarios
  • Assess trade-offs involving efficacy, safety, developability, manufacturability, and programme risk
• Target & Modality Strategy
  • Evaluate target-selection and modality-selection decisions
  • Assess biological rationale, therapeutic hypothesis, and competitive differentiation
  • Review trade-offs between ADC, bispecific, multispecific, and other biologic approaches
  • Identify risks associated with target biology, expression patterns, mechanism of action, or therapeutic window
  • Apply practical judgement to programme progression and prioritisation decisions
• ADC Development
  • Contribute expertise across antibody selection, linker strategy, payload choice, conjugation, and overall ADC design
  • Evaluate potency, selectivity, internalisation, stability, exposure, and toxicity considerations
  • Review development decisions affecting efficacy and therapeutic index
  • Assess preclinical evidence supporting candidate progression
  • Identify common failure modes and optimisation challenges in ADC programmes
• Bispecific & Multispecific Antibodies
  • Review programmes involving bispecific or multispecific antibody architectures
  • Evaluate target combinations, binding strategy, format selection, and functional activity
  • Assess developability, PK/PD, immunogenicity, safety, and manufacturability considerations
  • Review translational evidence and candidate-selection decisions
  • Identify modality-specific risks that may affect progression toward the clinic
• Preclinical & Translational Development
  • Apply experience across in vitro, in vivo, translational, pharmacology, and PK/PD workflows
  • Evaluate experimental design and interpretation of preclinical evidence
  • Assess how findings influence candidate optimisation and development strategy
  • Review programme readiness for lead optimisation or IND-enabling development
  • Identify evidence gaps, unresolved risks, and appropriate next-stage studies
• Cross-Functional R&D Expertise
  • Contribute expertise from areas such as:
    • Discovery biology
    • Medicinal chemistry
    • Protein and antibody engineering
    • Computational drug discovery
    • In vivo and translational research
    • Pharmacology and PK/PD
    • Toxicology
    • CMC and formulation
  • Apply cross-functional judgement to integrated programme decisions
  • Evaluate how findings from different disciplines affect candidate selection and development
• Scientific Data Evaluation
  • Label, classify, and annotate scientific data and technical outputs
  • Identify meaningful experimental signals, development decisions, and failure modes
  • Evaluate the relevance and quality of information used in downstream research workflows
  • Help establish consistent standards for scientific review and annotation
  • Translate practical R&D expertise into structured, usable data
• Dataset & Research Development
  • Help define structure and quality standards for scientific data pipelines
  • Identify which experimental and development variables should be captured
  • Surface workflow details that are often missed outside hands-on preclinical R&D
  • Participate in expert discussions, interviews, and research engagements
  • Provide practical perspective on how biologics programmes are advanced in industry

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D experience, with flexibility for candidates demonstrating exceptional technical depth
• Hands-on, non-administrative preclinical R&D experience within a company developing its own therapeutic assets
• Direct professional experience with ADCs and/or bispecific or multispecific antibodies
• Experience at an organisation that has advanced internal drug programmes toward or into clinical development
• Current or recent work in a core R&D function such as discovery biology, medicinal chemistry, protein or antibody engineering, computational discovery, translational science, pharmacology, PK/PD, toxicology, or CMC
• Strong understanding of biologics discovery, optimisation, and preclinical development
• Experience advancing a programme through lead optimisation, IND-enabling studies, or preclinical development is highly valued
• Experience within mid-sized, emerging, or resource-constrained biotechnology environments is advantageous
• Seniority may range from experienced individual contributor through Director level
• Strong scientific judgement and ability to explain development decisions clearly
• This opportunity is best suited to hands-on drug-development professionals rather than backgrounds focused primarily on CRO/CDMO services, academic-only research, QC/analytical functions, clinical development, diagnostics, regulatory affairs, or medical writing

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Expected commitment of approximately 10 hours per week
• Ongoing engagement based on project needs
• Compensation: $50–$90/hour
• Contributors will interact directly with the assigned research team
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
