[Hiring] Account Engineering Assistant @FM

Role Description

FM is seeking an Account Engineering Assistant (AEA) to support our Account Engineering team in delivering exceptional service to clients, brokers, and internal business partners. As an AEA, you will play a critical role in helping Account Engineers maximize their effectiveness by supporting client engagement, data quality, engineering workflow management, and report configuration activities.

You will work closely with Account Engineers (AEs), Assistant/Group Manager Account Engineering (GMAEs), Operations Engineering Managers, brokers, and clients to ensure engineering services are delivered efficiently and accurately. This role calls for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong technology skills and familiarity with Microsoft Copilot who can identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate recurring tasks, and improve process efficiency.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, learning new tools, and building strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

How Your Time Will Be Spent

• 40% Risk Improvement & Data Management
  • Track risk improvement recommendations, monitor portal activity and client responses, coordinate follow-up activities between clients, Account Engineers, and Field Engineers, and help drive timely progress on risk improvement initiatives.
  • Review portal notifications and client responses, coordinate follow-up actions with Account Engineers and Field Engineers, and support timely resolution of recommendation activity.
  • Support impairment follow-up efforts and project status tracking.
  • Support AEs with forecasting risk improvement through what if tool, ERR aggregation, etc.
• 30% Engineering Workflow & Report Support
  • Assist with engineering report configuration, processing, and quality review activities.
  • Support indexing, account maintenance, contact management, and other activities necessary to maintain accurate engineering and underwriting information.
  • Support Account Engineers by preparing account information packages, presentation materials, and meeting support documentation.
  • Partner with Account Engineers to conduct post-renewal account reviews, ensuring client records, servicing plans, portal contacts, report configurations, location data, and engineering information remain accurate and aligned with account strategy.
• 15% Client & Portal Engagement
  • Support FM's Portal-First philosophy by assisting Account Engineers with client follow-up activities related to engineering recommendations, projects, impairments, and account initiatives.
  • Aids clients in their understanding of how to maintain accurate site, contact, and organizational information within FM Portal.
  • Partner with clients and brokers to promote adoption of self-service portal capabilities and digital workflows.
  • Monitor and help resolve client questions related to engineering information and portal functionality.
• 15% Process Improvement & Technology Enablement
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 tools, including Copilot, Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring administrative activities and enhance team efficiency.
  • Support adoption of digital tools and best practices across the engineering team.
  • Contribute ideas that improve client experience, reporting quality, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting technical, operational, or client-facing teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in insurance, engineering, risk management, financial services, or a related professional services environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience using Microsoft Copilot, workflow automation tools, data management systems, or other productivity technologies.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and identify opportunities to improve processes through technology.
