Who you are
We are seeking a senior software engineer who is well-rounded technically, and passionate about the positive impact their code can make in people's lives. Brightwheel engineers work closely with product and design, as well as with other areas of the business to deliver a platform that meets our teachersâ & parentsâ biggest needs.
Every engineer at Brightwheel is afforded a high degree of ownership and autonomy. We are a lean, fast-moving team and value individuals who can optimize for being impactful while considering both technical and business drivers.
What You'll Do
Work alongside product and other engineers to implement new features, optimize software design, optimize user interfaces, and mitigate technical debt for the operational side of our platform.Operate in an agile environment to quickly deliver value to our go-to-market teams.Expand understanding of our customersâ needs to deliver software solutions to address those needs.Be a steward of quality, scalability, security, and performance. You'll work with other engineers to ensure that we have a solid foundation that serves our internal customers, and enables the team to continue building a great product. Design new software systems, or introduce new technologies, as appropriate to support brightwheelâs growth.Share knowledge and expertise across the engineering team
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities:
Must be located in Latin America5+ years of professional software engineering experience working in agile companies/teamsExperience developing in backend frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Python/Django, or GolangProficiency in both contributing designing and optimizing APIsExperience with frontend frameworks like React or AngularExperience writing automated tests (e.g. unit, integration, & e2e)
