Your Mission 🧭

As a Software Engineer at Gecko, you'll be an integral part of our mission to revolutionise student engagement in higher education. Our Tech Playground 🎠

• Our tech stack is a Javascript (React) frontend, PHP backend, MySQL, and all running on AWS.
• This role mainly puts the spotlight on PHP, especially the Laravel and Lumen frameworks but many in our engineering team have a full-stack approach.
• We've made great progress using the latest OpenAI technology to enhance our customers' workflows and create substantial impact for them - but this is just the beginning of our AI journey.

• Tech Enthusiast & Codebase Explorer: With 2+ years in the PHP field, you're ready to delve deeper into our codebase.
• Startup Pro & Chaos Champion: Experienced in small teams or startups and thrive in agile, dynamic, and flexible environments? Can deal with unknowns and possess, a "get sh*t done" mentality? Perfect!

• Passionate for PHP: Solid understanding of PHP, Laravel, and Lumen. Good knowledge of MySQL. And if you’ve dabbled in Javascript, even better!
• Coding Connoisseur: You can quickly grasp new concepts and technologies. You can hit the ground running and make meaningful contributions in a short period of time.
• Startup Experience: Proven track record working in a startup or small business environment. Your experience navigating these dynamic settings will be invaluable.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
• Customer-Centric Mindset: Proven track record of putting customers first and excelling in customer service.
• Change Embracer: Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and opportunities, and embrace change with an open mind.
• Commitment to Learning: Devoted to continuous learning and professional development, always looking for ways to grow and improve.
• Agile Aficionado: You're familiar with Agile delivery practices and thrive in a lean, dynamic environment.
• Testing Fanatic: Testing is a way of life for you—BDD, TDD, automated testing; you love it all!
• Cloud Familiarity: Experience with AWS? Appreciated, but not essential.
