About Kahoot!:

Founded in 2013, Kahoot! is on a mission to make learning awesome. Our platform empowers everyone — from students to employees — to unlock their full learning potential. Kahoot! has hosted an unfathomable number of learning sessions with over 10 billion participants in over 200 countries. Our group consists of several leading industry learning apps and platforms, including Drops, and we’re headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices around the world.

The role:

You are excited by variety (it’s the spice of life!) - In this role, you’ll be:

  • Learning, using, and optimizing our deployment process.
  • Manually testing across a suite of applications during the sprint cycle.
  • Supporting the development team in testing new builds and functionality.
  • Advocating for quality and engagement through issue tracking in Jira.
  • Pushing releases for the entire Drops catalogue.
  • Documenting for traceability.
  • Contributing to and delivering the wider QA roadmap.
  • Collaborating regularly with support to discuss and prioritize quality issues.
  • Communicating effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Engaging with and monitoring KPIs related to issue rates, crash rates, automation, and overall quality.
  • Maintaining and supporting existing test automation efforts (Cypress / Katalon).

Requirements

About you:

You’re a driven and passionate individual with an eye for detail and quality. You believe in not only building the best possible product experience but also in finding solutions to improve efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks. You have experience working within a product team, supporting them in testing efforts and process improvements. You’re proactive, able to recognize problems, spot patterns, and propose improvements. You’re excited about releasing new features and enjoy meticulous documentation.

Drops is a deliberately small, but super effective team. You’re naturally drawn to the fate of the products & driven to grow as a QA engineer.

Requirements:

  • Experience in independently planning and executing testing for products and applications.
  • Interest in UI test automation.
  • Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira, Monday, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactiveness and a solutions-focused attitude.
  • Experience writing documentation.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies.

Drops values clear, honest communication and transparency. It’s the linchpin of our culture, success and freedom. You’ll be actively involved in both high-level and detailed decision-making processes. While our standard working hours cover an 8-hour day, we have core hours from 10 AM to 4 PM CET, during which your availability is essential.

Benefits

  • 🌍  All the perks of remote working.
  • 👥  An awesomely compact team (~30 people in Drops, 500+ globally in Kahoot!).
  • 🧠  Yearly educational allowance.
  • 💪  Fitness allowance.
  • 💻  High-end Apple hardware and ergonomic accessories.
  • 🏖 36 days of holiday per year.
  • ✈️  Team gatherings twice a year in various locations worldwide

What’s Different Here:

At Drops and Kahoot!, we prioritize impact over headcount. As part of a small, effective team, you’ll have significant autonomy and accountability. We maintain robust coding standards, and every pull request requires review and approval. We’re big on A/B testing and focus on releasing high-impact projects. Our biggest challenge is balancing solid automation test coverage with regular releases of new functionality.

Notes

Hey, this is Irma. I’ll be reviewing your application. We’re looking for people who are excited about working within Kahoot, not just any company. Please send a personal note along with your application, telling me what you like about Drops and what you hope to gain from working with us. And just to ensure you read this far, add your favourite animal to your application.
