[Hiring] Staff Accountant @TMG

The Staff Accountant is a newly created role supporting the internal accounting function for TMG, reporting to the VP of Finance.  The Staff Accountant will be involved in the migration of accounting systems to NetSuite, establishing an accrual-based month-end close process, as well as strengthening monthly financial reconciliations and reporting.  A successful candidate will be a detail-oriented accounting professional who is comfortable either working remotely or in a hybride environment (if in the Chicago area).

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting: Support accrual-based month-end close process including bookkeeping, journal entries and reconciliations. 
• Invoicing: Work with client leadership to support the client billing and collections process.
• Accounts Payable: Support the accounts payable process by working with the business for expense approvals, appropriately classifying expenses in the general ledger, booking of prepaids and accruals as needed
• Payroll: Coordinate with HR in processing payroll for full-time employees and contractors
• System and Process Optimization: Support the NetSuite accounting software implementation while working with third party implementation consultant. Work closely with various parts of the business operations to develop and maintain processes to continuously improve our practices.

Your Experience

• 6+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA, or CPA in progress, considered a bonus
• Advanced knowledge of excel and Google sheets 
• Experience with ERP accounting systems- NetSuite considered a bonus
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to interface with cross-functional teams and third parties
• Comfortable operating in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment, is flexible and agile as business needs and goals shift
