[Hiring] Legal Counsel / Business & Legal Affairs Manager @YourVid

As a hybrid between media and tech company, we help artists and labels to monetize and distribute their content on UGC platforms such as YouTube and streaming services such as Spotify. With our proprietary and unique technology and our stellar team, we administer 200,000+ copyrighted works and have paid over 10 million USD to rights holders.

In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters. You will work closely with our Founder & CEO and our leadership team to ensure all legal matters of the company are taken care of diligently. As a music licensing company, legal affairs is a profit center for us - and is prioritized accordingly.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Structuring and drafting a variety of complex deals, including distribution agreements, recording contracts, publishing agreements, and other innovative deals as required by our business needs - including general commercial matters
• Provide expert, strategic legal advice to our management and teams
• Handling legal disputes and claims until resolution, primarily in copyright infringement matters
• Conducting negotiations with opposing counsel, artist management, digital service providers, collective management organizations, and other licensees and licensors, ensuring successful deal closures
• Preparing legal documents such as cease and desist letters, indemnification letters, settlement agreements, etc.

• Extensive practical or academic experience in intellectual property (copyright and related rights) and handling international legal matters
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadlines
• A structured, organized, and reliable working style
• Experience working as part of a team, and in an international environment
• Full working proficiency in English

It's a bonus if you have:

• Full working proficiency in other languages, especially German
• Sophisticated understanding of and experience with international music business, for example at a music label, music publishing company, music distributor, or performance rights organization
• Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent entrepreneurial and creative thinking skills
