[Hiring] Systems Administrator @Five9

The Systems Administrator role is a full-time position within the Professional Services Analytics and Reporting Development Team at Five9, focusing on the management, administration, and integration of critical systems to enhance product functionality and support. This individual will play a key role in administering Linux systems (mostly CentOS with a bit of Ubuntu) and services like Postgres, SFTP/SSH, Postgres, Postfix Mail, Apache, SSL, LDAP, and other essential tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency. The role demands close collaboration with the Development team as well as customers to ensure seamless system integration and to support product readiness and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer/maintain Linux hosts running the Analytics & Reporting Custom Reports environments.
• Build new hosts/environments including Perl/Perl modules, Apache & modules, Postgres, Postfix, MySQL, LDAP.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Participation in occasional off-hours maintenance is MANDATORY but very rare.
• Support Development team needs.
• Support customer needs/issues.
• Help improve stability.
• Help with process implementation and improvement.

Key Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in systems administration and integration, with a preference for experience in CentOS.
• Proven experience in fast-moving, diverse environments.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems integration projects, with a strong understanding of software configuration and integration best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of integrated platforms.

Nice to have but not required:

• Familiarity with Five9 systems is preferred.
• Experience with GCP.
• Experience coding.  Shell scripting, Perl, python, C, Go, any programming experience is highly preferred as this Systems Administrator role mainly supports a development team.

Educational Attainment:

• A college degree is preferred, ideally in a field related to information technology, computer science, or system engineering.
• 10+ years of professional experience in systems administration, integration, or a related role within a technology or enterprise software company
