Description:

We are looking for a Project Engineer Systems to build our customers infrastructure according to detailed design created by Lead Engineer and in line with bA delivery standard and practices. Stay up to date with systems and security technologies and trends within the industry, ensuring solutions utilised are suited to the technologies delivered by blueAPACHE.

Comply with bA information security policies and procedures at all times and proactively suggest improvements within our proposed system architecture, best practices, and other standards to improve service and value for both our customer and blueAPACHE.

Requirements

  • Previous role with an IT&T System Integrator, Professional Consulting Services, Managed Services or similar organisation.
  • At least 3+ years in a System Engineer role specialising in wintel, Office365/M365.
  • Strong knowledge and industry experience across a range of systems technologies including vendors such as Microsoft/Azure, VMWare, Citrix and HP.
  • Industry experience working within the ITIL framework (ITIL certifications highly regarded)

Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of following technologies:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019.
  • Microsoft Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PKI, DFS, NPS, RDS etc).
  • Microsoft Exchange On-premises and online.
  • Microsoft Office M365 (MDM, Defender, Application Control, AD Connect, MFA, etc).
  • Email Filtering (Mimecast, Trend).
  • Server Hardware (HP, Cisco, Dell).
  • Anti-Virus technologies (Defender, Trend).

Highly regarded to have experience around following:

  • Linux (RedHat and Ubuntu)
  • Log Management (Syslog, SIEM)
  • Microsoft Azure IAAS & PAAS
  • M365 (MAM)
  • MS SQL Server
  • SAN (HPE, Nimble)
  • NAS (QNAP)
  • Veeam Backup and Replication
  • VMware vSphere (Multi host Server Virtualization)

Practical understanding of the following technologies:

  • Network Fundamentals (Routing, Switching, Firewall)
  • Citrix & Terminal Services
  • Disaster Recovery techniques
  • Wireless Controllers & Access Points
  • Security processes and procedures
  • Reasonable project delivery and documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of the ITIL IT Service Management Framework
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team orientated.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of Virtualization, MS Windows Domain, Azure IAAS, Office365, Security and backup services as per current best practice in the industry.
  • In collaboration with the Lead Engineer and Project Manager, ensure solutions are being delivered in line with design, statement of work and scheduling milestones.
  • Systems configuration, testing, and cutover is done to ensure delivered solution is scalable, secure, redundant, and reliable.
  • Deliver technical projects individually and as a Team.
  • Resolve incidents related to project activities as per Ticket SLA.
  • Adhere to Incident and Change Management processes as per blueAPACHE/customer standards (ITIL Framework).
  • Identify road-blockers and provide alternate approach and/or escalate to engineering manager if required.
  • Manage project plans and deliver work to agreed priorities, manage own workload to achieve results to agreed standards and within agreed time frames, provide reports of progress as required to engineering and project managers.
  • Provide relevant Project Artefacts (AS-BUILT, Service Readiness and UAT documents, etc) to Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager for a review.
  • Ensure swift handover of project to bA/Customerā€™s operations Team and provide high level training if required.
  • Undergo Vendor Trainings or complete self-study to address skill gaps and attain certification as directed by business.
